The USA ELITE (EM) and the German STATES PREMIUM (SPS or SPA without a foal born in Germany) Mare Titles are the highest studbook placements that Hanoverian Mares can obtainMinimum high scores must be earned at both the Mare's Inspection and Mare's Performance Test (MPT).

A German study shows a high correlation between the Mare Performance Test results and the ability to predict the talents of the mare's offspring.

These mares are the foundation of our World Class Hanoverian Breeding Program.  We have sought strong mare lines with well documented family histories to increase our breeding success.  Notice that each has achieved coveted approvals and performance ratings as well as having a bloodline history of success.  These mares provide a proven foundation for the success of our foals and your future riding and breeding horse.

"Genetically, the mare is responsible for at least 50 percent of the foal. Some breeders even argue by observation that the dam affects the offspring at a rate of 60 percent or more. In the majority of cases, breeding experts will tell you the mare's characteristics override the stallion's. A rule of thumb in the breeding world is that you can breed a mediocre stallion to a great mare and still have a nice foal. But breed a great stallion to an undesirable mare? The results will be disastrous. Temperament, conformation and talent are each critically tied to the mare's genetic structure, a structure she passes from generation to generation. Therefore, understanding the mare's crucial role in the breeding process is an undeniably essential part of the breeding equation."  From "The Mare Matters" in Dressage Today, January 2003.

EM-SPA ALUETTE .... .... is a 16.3H Chestnut  ELITE/SPA Mare by Argentan (Absatz-Wohlan- Lateran) out of Davina (Donnerhall- Bolero- Wendekreis)....May 12, 1995.  Class 1 X-Rays.  Breeder Leuder Lepenies from Deinste, Germany.

      2000 FOALS   2002 FOALS  2004 FOALS  2005 FOALS

Imported from Germany, her German Inspection Highlights include an overall score of 7.5, with 8's for saddle position, foreleg, correctness of gaits, and swing and elasticity.  Her German Performance Test Results include a rare and impressive overall score of 8.22 (the highest overall Mare Performance Test (MPT) scores for all mares tested in the entire US were 7.76 in 2000, 8.3 in 1999 and 1998 and 8.1 in 1997).  Aluette's scores included an extremely rare perfect 10 for free jumping scope, a 9 for free jumping technique, and 8's for walk, trot, and rideability judges.  A mare with superior conformation, gaits and performance results and suitable for both jumping and dressage.

Aluette's sire, Argentan (1967-1996), was 1994 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year.  Argentan was one of the last sons of  the famous Absatz to stand at stud.  Argentan's offspring earned him high indices in both dressage and jumping.  Argentan has produced 3 national champion broodmares.

Argentan was called 'Celle's best civil servant', because he is one of the very few stallions that is able to pass onto his offspring a series of qualities in their entirety.  Argentan represented character (no vices, dependable, never sick), a strong constitution, a correct exterior, as well as a willingness and ability to perform.  We are proud to own one of the 100 SPS or Elite mares that he produced out of his over 2400 foals.

Aluette's granddam, SPS Batavia, has, among other winners, produced the 1997 Bundeschampion (National Champion of Germany for Dressage), Duvalier by Davignon.  Duvalier sold initially at Verden for DM 240,000 and then for DM 1,000,000.

Aluette's dam Davina's has had two other fillies, one a 1996 foal, High Princess by Hohenstein, has been very successful in young horse classes in Germany including a third at the prestigious federal biannual Louis-Wiegels Show..  High Princess also scored an overall 9.0 at her inspection and an 8.22 on her MPT and was reportedly offered for sale in Germany for DM 100,000.  High Princess is the dam of Selten HW by Sandro Hit, the Reserve Grand Champion at Dressage at Devon 2006.  High Value, Davina's 1997 Hohenstein foal, has also been very successful with an overall 8 at her inspection and scoring 10's for walk and canter and a 9 for trot with an overall 8.06 on her MPT.  This is one of the strongest dam lines available in the USA.

Her first superb foal of 2000, Pacific Patina is by Pointmaker and she was Reserve Champion Filly  and highest scoring  Hanoverian at both the 2002 USDF Breeders' Championships Series Qualifier in Rancho Murieta, CA. and again at the Reserve Champion and high scoring Hanoverian at the 2004 USDF Dressage Sport Horse Show in Arizona.  Judges comments on Pacific Patina include: impressive top-line, best trot with elastic movement, active hind leg and ground covering, good modern riding horse type, valuable broodmare prospect.

For her 2002 foal, Aluette had a handsome gelding by Winterprinz by Warkant out of SPS Windrose.  SPS Windrose was awarded the Champion 3-year-old Mare of Germany, and as a foal Winterprinz was the German Champion and Reserve European Champion.  Winterprinz won 1st Place in Dressage at his 100-Day-Testing and is one of the top stallions showing in the US.  For 2003, Aluette was not in foal.

For 2004, she had the award winning filly, Wavenly, by the legendary  Wolkentanz I, considered the best producing son of Weltmeyer.  In 2005, Wavenly was the top Hanoverian at the New England Dressage Association (NEDA) Fall Festival of Dressage and also scored an 82 in the Yearling Filly Class.  She was also the Champion Filly and High Scoring Hanoverian (80.2) at Dressage at Stone Tavern (NJ) and also won the filly class at the Red Horse Stables Show (CT).  Wavenly finished her season as the 2005 Reserve Champion for the New England Dressage Association.  In 2006, Wavenly was NEDA two year old Champion and Reserve Champion Filly for USDF New England.

Worcester is an extraordinary mare that we were able to acquire privately in Germany.  She received an overall 8 at her Inspection, including 9's for Swing and Elasticity and for her Head.  In addition, she earned an astounding 8.39 at her Mare Performance Test, including 9's for trot and canter, and a 9 and 10 for rideability.  At the breeding shows, she was the winner of her Class at 2, winner of her Class at 3, and also Mare Show Champion (Ihlienworth) at 3.

This qualified her for invitation to the prestigious 5th Ratje-Niebuhr Mare Show in 2000 in Verden.  This show is only held every several years and brings the Regional Champions together.  She again won her 3-year-old Class at Ratje-Niebuhr as well.   An official of the Hanoverian Verband rated her as one of the top three mares in her age group in all of Germany in 2000.

Worcester's sire is WHITE MAGIC by Weltmeyer out of SPS Biene by Bolero.  This young stallion died in 2000 at the age of eight.  In his short career, he was ranked with the other Champion sons of Weltmeyer.  He dominated his Stallion Performance Test at Adelheidsdorf in 1995, with an overall score of 140.69, with 152.19 for rideability and placed 1st of 50.  In addition, he placed in three consecutive annual German national Bundeschampionships and was ridden by Holga Finken.  Other progeny have done well as auction horses and were also successful at breed shows.

White Magic scored exceptionally well in the newly revised and integrated German Breed Value data system of the National Federation (FN Breed Values, the so-called integrated breed value estimation) in Dressage for 2001.  White Magic was third overall and second for Hanoverians in dressage for this National ranking of all German Dressage Sires.  He was first overall in the Suitability component, second overall (to Don Schufro (Old.)) and first Hanoverian in the Stallion Performance Test component and third overall (to Wolkentanz and Don Primero) in the Mare Performance Test component.  White Magic, who unfortunately died at 8 years of age in 2000, is proving to be as superb a sire as he was a performer in the Bundeschampionships for many years.

Worcester’s dam is LIMONE by Lemon xx.  Limone received a 7.05 on her Mare Performance Test and her first foal in 1994 was Ritano by Ravallo, who was licensed as a stallion in Verden in 1996. Ritano became infected during his Performance Test in 1997, was gelded, and sold for 120,000 DM as a dressage horse.

Limone is by Lemon xx, who is a thoroughbred who stood at the Celle Stud until the age of 26.  Lemon sired horses for dressage, show jumping and several world-class event horses, including the Sydney Olympics horse Little MacMuffin, and Literat who was German National Champion of young event horses.  Lemon xx also sired Lemon Park and Lemon Tree, who was the Champion of the 1987 Stallion Licensing and winner in his Stallion Performance Test the next year.

Limone’s dam Taiga has produced the SPS mare Sydney by Salvano and SPA Dorina by Donnerschall with a Performance Test of 7.94, who was imported to the USA.  SPS Dorina (shown as Dakotah) has won multiple Freestyle Championships in the USA.  Taiga produced two other Lemon xx foals, Laretta and Lemon’s Premium, who both won suitability classes for dressage at the age of four.

Worcester had an elegant filly in 2002 in Germany by Contendro and has thus completed her SPS status and a colt by Don Gregory in 2003.  For 2004 Worcester has a handsome dark brown colt by Sandro Hit.  She was open for 2005.  Worcester had a colt by Stedinger by Sandro Hit in 2006, which is sold.

Worcester had a lovely black filly by the successful young Celle stallion, Don Frederico for 2007.
